On October 05, 2012 (77 FR 60935), the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA) published a final rule to correct editorial errors, make minor regulatory changes, and improve the clarity of certain provisions in the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMRs). The intended effect of this final ruling is to enhance the accuracy and reduce misunderstandings of the regulations by correcting typographical errors, incorrect Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) references and citations, inconsistent use of terminology, misstatements of certain regulatory requirements and inadvertent omissions of information. These amendments are non-substantive changes, do not impose new requirements and will appear in the next published revision of the 49 CFR. This final rule is effective October 05, 2012.
