On July 08, 2022 (87 FR 40868), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) published a notice in the federal register issuing NUREG-2159, Revision 1, “Acceptable Standard Format and Content for the Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan Required for Special Nuclear Material (SNM) of Moderate Strategic Significance.” This NUREG provides information to facilitate compliance with NRC regulations in 10 CFR Part 74 Subpart D applicable to the fundamental nuclear material control plans required of certain types of licensees. The NRC also published a document (No. ML22080A123) outlining the NRC’s responses to the public comments and explains the changes made to the draft version published on September 23, 2021 (86 FR 52926).
