EPA added a requirement for Small Quantity Generators (SQGs) in the 2016 Generator Improvements Rule to re-notify every four years using the Site ID Form (Form 8700-12) or state equivalent. The EPA has been working with the states to develop outreach materials. They have also requested each commercial Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) to help get the word out to their customers as well with a new handout that TSDFs can give to their SQG customers or attach to an invoice or email. The first renotification deadline is September 1, 2021 in states that have adopted the new requirements by then.
