On January 13, 2023, (88 FR 2175) the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), (88 FR 2190) the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and (88 FR 2188) the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) published Final Rules in the Federal Register (FR) to adjust the level of civil penalty amounts due to inflation that may be imposed for violations of their respective regulations. Additionally, the NRC is amending provisions concerning program fraud civil penalties for each false claim or statement; and amending its Enforcement Policy (88 FR 2187). These final rules and actions are effective on January 13, 2023.
